DEFINING GENOCIDE
The Term “Genocide" Is A Modern Term.
Humankind has been perpetrating the act against itself/each other, between 1525 and 1866 in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. The accepted number of survivors to that New World was 10.7 millions. (This was the population on whose backs the foundation of the United States was built). This last sentence can be included/excluded depending on the tone you want to set). Genocide as a socially coined term is credited to an attorney Raphael Lemke in the mid 1940’s* and the Jewish Holocaust is usually acknowledged as the first one. The World Court (the UN’s International Court of Justice), the International Criminal Court, created by the 1998 Rome Statue (UN), and US Justice Department accept the given definition of genocide with some differing elements that make it a crime. * (What is noteworthy is) / irregardless either one of these could be used of the different elements in each definition, it is the Alkebulans (Africans) who have had and continue to experience the largest number perpetrated against them.
The United Nations (Genocide Convention) defines genocide “…as any of the following acts
committed with intent to in whole or in part, a national, ethical, racial or religious groups, as such:
a) Killing members of the group;
b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
The US Justice Department classifies genocide as a crime using the same elements as the World Court definition with the added element of:
“causing permanent impairment to the mental faculties of members of the group through drugs, torture or similar techniques.”

Applying these six elements to the history and current experience of Alkebulan people fits/demonstrates either one of these could be used the clear/consistent application of genocide.
